The Grand Bazaar, located in the heart of Tehran, Iran, is one of the city’s oldest and most vibrant commercial centers. Stretching across more than 10 kilometers of interconnected corridors, each section of the bazaar is dedicated to specific types of goods, from textiles and jewelry to spices and carpets. The main entrance, Sabze Meydan, leads visitors into a maze of traditional shops and historic architecture.
Beyond its bustling trade, the bazaar also houses several mosques, guesthouses, and banks, serving as both an economic and cultural hub. It is conveniently connected to the Tehran Metro via Khayam and 15th Khordad stations, making it easily accessible from different parts of the city. Recognized for its historical and cultural significance, the Grand Bazaar was officially inscribed on Iran’s National Heritage List on October 24, 1977, under the supervision of the Cultural Heritage, Handicrafts, and Tourism Organization of Iran.
